About Symmetry
What is Symmetry all about? The wow! factor. That moment where our clients see the progress we’ve made on their reno and are eager to see more. This is what gets us excited about what we do. We love to come up with creative ideas and solutions to help our clients achieve their goals. We use our backgrounds and interests in home renovation, millwork, carpentry and even furniture making and metalwork to make this happen. Whatever we can bring to bear on our project to make it that much better.
We also have a great time while working. We have fun because we enjoy what we do. How could we not when every job is an opportunity to learn, to create, and to connect. That’s our focus. We think it’s pretty powerful stuff, and hope you do too.

Demetri Thomopoulos
I’m a carpenter by trade and over the last 24 years in the industry I have been fortunate to have worked with some incredibly talented men and women who have helped shape my career. I have a strong and varied background with experience in millwork, ground up multi-family, concrete high-rise construction, and commercial tenant improvements as both a Superintendent and Project Manager. I took the plunge into self-employment and have worked for over 10 years in the home renovations world. I find that I’m able to communicate well with clients and work collaboratively to help achieve their construction needs. I strive to provide the best of myself in everything I offer. Oh, and I sing a lot on site…did I mention that??
Ken Carlstrom
During my previous career, I was always drawn toward opportunities to create and build with my hands and use some of my more creative design ideas. After a full renovation of our home where I was involved in the layout, interior design and construction oversight, I knew this industry provided the perfect opportunity for me to pursue these interests. So, I put down my pen and picked up a hammer and never looked back.
I set up a woodworking shop where I do some furniture making as well as miscellaneous millwork for our jobs, and I joined Demetri full time doing home renovation work
Layout design is something I enjoy, making sure the spaces we build are aesthetically pleasing and also highly functional. I treat each house as if it were my own when it comes to providing feedback to our clients about their design plans.
I have a constant focus on learning new skills. From woodworking to furniture making, from carpentry to all things home renovation. My ultimate goal is to help you build or reno a home you’ll love. Oh yeah, and unlike D… I don’t sing much on site which is probably for the best!
